Paw Packs: A Volunteer Opportunity for Middle & High School Students
Paw Packs is a self-paced volunteer activity for young animal lovers who want to make a real difference for pets in our care. Designed for middle and high school students seeking service hours, this program invites participants to create small care packages filled with goodies that support pets as they head into foster homes.
Paw Packs Materials
Each Paw Pack includes simple comfort items like toys and treats, either purchased or handmade, all bundled together with kindness and creativity. These thoughtful packs help new foster families welcome their temporary houseguests and give pets a gentle, positive start in a new environment.
Why Paw Packs Matter
For students:
Paw Packs is a flexible way to earn volunteer hours while doing something hands-on and meaningful. Kids can express their creativity, learn about helping animals in their community, and see the impact of their work when they drop their packs off at RAL.
For pets:
Each pack adds comfort, enrichment, and a sense of welcome as pets transition into foster care. A few small items can make a big difference, helping animals feel safe, supported, and ready to settle in.
For foster families:
Paw Packs give fosters a helpful head start with items they can use right away,
making those first days easier for everyone involved.
