On December 4, 2007, the Richmond Animal League was granted custody of four of the dogs seized in the Michael Vick dog fighting case. Two of the dogs are being cared for in a local foster home. The other two are in foster care with an out of state rescue group that prefers to remain anonymous. Learn about the two local dogs, the progress they've made and plans for the future here.
Alf and Gracie have apparently never been exposed to the insidious world of dogfighting either as fighters or bait dogs. We know this because they do not bear the telltale scars associated with fighters/bait dogs.
Please note, these dogs are not at the RAL shelter at this time
and are not yet available for adoption.

Just last week we learned that Aretha (who’s name had been changed to “Seven”) was hit by a car and killed outside her foster home. Tragic accidents like this happen everyday but we know, in this particular case, it must be devastating for her foster home. RAL sends it condolences to her foster dad and everyone at the Georgia SPCA who cared so deeply about Aretha/Seven.
