The Richmond Animal League (RAL) is the area’s oldest non-profit “no-kill” organization committed to reducing the homeless pet population in the Richmond area. RAL provides temporary housing, medical treatment, sterilization, and quality care to over 800 companion animals each year until they are adopted into permanent and loving homes. RAL has been finding homes for homeless dogs and cats in the Richmond area since 1979. more

Our volunteer foster parents extend our reach by providing temporary homes for young animals and animals in need when our facility is full. Fostering is a tremendously rewarding experience and most of our foster parents foster animals over and over again.

Richmond animal league adopts out over 500 animals each year, including dogs and cats across the metro Richmond area. Our commitment to no-kill means we keep an animal as long as it takes to find a home, but we need your help to provide those forever homes so that we may reach out to the next animal in need. more
