The Richmond Animal League, Inc. is Richmond’s oldest non-profit, no-kill humane society. RAL was founded in 1979 by a group of local good Samaritans concerned about the hundreds of stray animals in the area. RAL provides temporary housing, medical treatment, sterilization, and quality care to over 800 companion animals each year until they are adopted into permanent and loving homes. Our volunteer foster parents extend our reach by providing temporary homes for young animals and animals in need when our facility is full. Fostering is a tremendously rewarding experience and most of our foster parents foster animals over and over again. more
