Richmond Animal League (RAL) held its Best In Show Grand Finale at Toad’s Place - the culmination of a nine week fundraising competition among 6 community members. The evening consisted of a silent auction, cocktails, dinner and a band. Lorie Roberts of Midlothian became RAL’s first “Best In Show” after raising over $23,000 – the most by any single candidate. Mrs. Roberts works at W. Baxter Perkinson, Jr., D.D.S. and Associates, Ltd.

This year, on October 25-26, Ring Dog Rescue is bringing National Pit Bull Awareness Day to Richmond and is encouraging the public to come out and help celebrate these wonderful dogs. Multiple events are being held around the city to try and help people see these dogs in the positive light they deserve.

RAL has been awarded $4,016.00 for the Ukrop's Golden Gift program - the third highest award given! Special thanks to all volunteers and community members who turned in their Golden Gift certificated to benefit RAL. This money is an amazing gift to continue to support the very important work we do. Thanks everyone.
Hurricane Katrina was the costliest and one of the five deadliest hurricanes in the history of the United States. RAL Staff and volunteers set out to rescue several of those animals and bring them back to their facility where they could receive proper medical care and attention.
