Meet our Director of Development
Susan Kelly
Susan Kelly moved to Virginia from her home state of Texas after graduating from Texas Christian University in 2003 and has recently been married. Her new home would not be complete without her rescue dog, “Sonoma”.
The first step in her career was with the U. S. Department of Homeland Security. While performing her next full time job helping small businesses for a Federal contractor, she took on the task of establishing a non-profit corporation to bring baseball back to Washington, D.C. In her spare time, she organized this effort and rallied local, national, and international support. Susan was quoted in USA Today October 1, 2004 on behalf of her cause.
For the last two years she has been planning and implementing fundraising for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. She has managed the very successful “Light the Night” fundraiser walks for the Society. Recruiting and managing volunteers, finding sponsors and donors, and marketing events to the media are among the skills she brings to the Richmond Animal League.
Energy, enthusiasm, and a can-do open-minded attitude combine with her dedication to the homeless animal cause to make Ms. Kelly an outstanding addition to RAL. We are very lucky to have her and look forward to great progress with Susan leading our development.
