RAL Has Record Breaking Year for Rescue & Adoptions
January 26, 2009
The Richmond Animal League (RAL) is proud to announce that 2008 was a record-breaking year for rescue and adoptions of homeless animals at their Chesterfield shelter. Thanks to the financial support of the public and the hard work of the RAL staff and volunteers, 792 homeless animals were rescued and brought to RAL to await their forever homes.
The 792 animals rescued by RAL in 2008 far surpassed their goal of 700. This number was up 53% from the 520 animals rescued in 2007. Following in this trend, RAL was able to adopt out 773 of those cats and dogs into their loving, forever homes.
On any given day, there are over 75 cats and dogs at RAL who are looking for their second chance at happiness. Consider adopting one of these homeless animals. See shelter location and hours on the right.
The Richmond Animal League is the area’s oldest non-profit “no-kill” organization committed to reducing the homeless pet population in the Richmond area. The Richmond Animal League has provided shelter and love to hundreds of companion animals each year until they can be adopted into permanent and loving homes.
