Please consider a donation to Richmond Animal League. As a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization, we are dependent upon the generosity of people like you! All contributions go directly to providing care for our rescued animals. Donations are tax deductible.
RAL receives no financial support from government agencies or national humane organizations. We rely solely on private donations, adoption fees, grants and fundraising activities to provide our operating funds which average $17,000 per month. This includes food for our animals, utilities, mortgage and of course, veterinary bills. Our veterinarian expenses alone average $40,000 per year.
General Operating Expenses/Annual Fund
The Annual Fund provides support for general operations, such as staffing, fundraising, administrative operations, building maintenance and all animal programs.

Memorial and Tribute Donations
It is always a hard time when a family member, friend, or pet passes away. You may choose to remember this companion by donating to the Richmond Animal League in their memory. The Richmond Animal League will send a hand-written note to the family providing them with condolences and recognition of your gift in their memory. You may also choose to honor a special person or pet by making a donation in their honor. People and pets alike love to be recognized for doing something wonderful, or just being a great friend. Choose the "Make a Donation" option under Gift Information and a space will be provided to indicated the name of the person or pet.
Donation to Gracie's Guardians
Gracie’s Guardians, is an initiative of the Richmond Animal League specifically focused on improving the welfare of pit bulls in the greater Richmond area. Gracie's Guardians offers limited, traditional fostering and adoption of pit bulls rescued from public shelters, combined with proactive spay and neuter support to pit bull owners in need along with targeted education and awareness outreach to the community in general. Through spay and neuter and educational outreach, we seek to address the human causes that drive ongoing overpopulation and suffering of these dogs.
Corporate Matching Gifts
Did you know that you can double the amount of your donation to RAL? Many employers are willing to match the charitable contributions of their employees (whether it be for an adoption, donating on line, Remembrance Giving, etc.). Matching gifts are usually matched dollar for dollar (often by just completing a simple company form). Please inquire at your employer's Human Resources or Personnel Department to determine if you have a Matching Gift Program.
