RAL receives no financial support from United Way, government agencies or national humane organizations. We rely solely on donations, adoption fees, and fundraising activities to provide our operating funds which average $17,000.00 per month. This includes food for our animals, utilities, mortgage and of course, veterinary bills. Our veterinarian expenses alone average $40,000 per year.
When you choose to spread out your donation into monthly payments, you give RAL the peace of mind that comes from knowing there will be regular and steady funds to help us further our mission. Simply click on the Donate button to the left and choose Make a Donation. There is a drop-down box under Type of Donation that will allow you to designate your gift as “Monthly.” Monthly donations are automatically charged to your debit or credit card at the same time every month. The Annual Fund provides support for general operations, such as staffing, fundraising, administrative operations, building maintenance and all animal programs more
If you are a federal employee, you have the option of supporting us through the Central Virginia Area Combined Federal Campaign. Did you know that you can double the amount of your donation to RAL? Many employers are willing to match the charitable contributions of their employees (whether it be for an adoption, donating on line, Remembrance Giving, etc.). Matching gifts are usually matched dollar for dollar (often by just completing a simple company form). Please inquire at your employer's Human Resources or Personnel Department to determine if you have a Matching Gift Program.
It is always a hard time when a family member, friend, or pet passes away. You may choose to remember this companion by donating to the Richmond Animal League in their memory. If appropriate, the Richmond Animal League will send a hand written note to the family providing them with condolences and recognition of your gift in their memory. This donation will go into the General Operating Fund and used where it is needed the most. RAL’s In Memory section of the website is under construction, but soon you will be able to see your loved one’s name on the website and know that they have helped a worthy cause.
People and Pet's alike love to be recognized for doing something wonderful, or just being a great friend. By donating to the Richmond Animal League in honor of a person or a pet they will know that they helped you support a wonderful organization. What do you get for someone who has everything? When it comes to Birthdays, Weddings, Anniversaries, and other celebrations consider giving them the gift of helping the Richmond Animal League. When you make a donation in honor of a celebration a note will be handwritten to the honoree telling them that your gift has helped the animals find wonderful homes!
If you are having a hard time deciding what to give the guests at your wedding for party favors, consider making a donation to the Richmond Animal League in their honor. The Richmond Animal League will create cards for you to place at tables letting people know that a donation has been made in their honor.
Your car can help homeless cats and dogs when you donate the vehicle to the Richmond Animal League. more
