“Spotty” aka “Charlie” was rescued from neighbors incapable of adequate care. He is friendly with all adults (male, female, in the dark, during the day, wearing hats, etc..), but has not had the opportunity to be around small children. No aggressive tendencies observed around male or female dogs, however has attempted to mount females, which should improve after neutering. Does not react to barking dogs passed during walks or those behind fences. He has never even growled at anything or anyone.
Appears to have significant separation anxiety and does not want to be left alone inside or outside, but this is improving. Other than that, this is a great dog. Does not chew furniture; has not messed in or marked in this house or a neighbor’s house. He sleeps on a dog bed at night. No food aggression observed, even though meals have been inconsistent for him in recent years. Response to sounds/voices is inconsistent, but may be related to yeast infection in his ears, which is clearing. This has been a BIG transition for this dog who had very little human interaction and ran the streets at will. This is a very smart and willing dog who has improved light years in just a few days. This is a perfect dog with the exception of the separation anxiety. He has only been in a home for 1 week, but is adjusting well. This dog needs to be with someone who can help him work though the anxiousness he experiences when left alone. He is not ready to be left in a crate or pen at this time.
